1925 Western Electric
A1 cradle phone. This was their first cradle phone. Commonly
considered a test bed for the new (and their first) commercial
handset,
the E1, it had limited distribution and is now a very sought
after phone. And no, I don't have one to sell.
I included this here for reference. |

Later 1937 Western Electric
302 square base cradle
phone, version with reverse mounted network, flat bottom, riveted
feet, vents in the handhold and the
wide cradle with small switch buttons, modular

out one of the rear feet rivets and
put a screwed in foot in its place, so there are 3
riveted feet and one isn't! Leather on feet has holes and is
well worn. Network and #4 dial marked 37 and the condenser has
the plastic wrap. Ringer has no date. |

1930's Kellogg Masterphone
1000 "RedBar", so named because the hook switch
under the handset is
a red plastic bar. This is one of the very hard to find metal
bodied ones and represents one of the last of
the "Masterphone" series, a heavily Art Deco influenced
series of designs. The name is the model name of the particular
handset found on all these models. See above. This one has
a new black powder-coat finish.
